April 17th - Leamington Grand Prix of Racewalking

Paul Fitzpatrick (left) joined the 10K club at the Leamington Race walking grand prix in England today when the Irish under 17 champion became the fourth Shercock walker to successfully complete the championship distance in the past 12 months. Paul produced a typical battling performance to finish in fourth place in the under 17 competition in a time of 54 minutes and 29 seconds and joins his brother Hugh as well as Peter and Michael Muldoon on the club's 10km ranking list. Peter (right) was less successful in Leamington on this occasion, where he was forced to withdraw from the junior men's race after 6km.
