2005 County Cavan Spring League

The inaugural Spring League for the juvenile athletes of the county concluded at the Killygarry  GAA  track facility on Sunday April 10^th. The Juvenile cup was sponsored by Brian Webber Sportsworld, Cavan and the Meet’s main sponsor was Philip Kierans Texaco, Dublin Road, Cavan. The athletes and their coaches saw the Spring series of races as a valuable means of preparing for the upcoming track season and the athlete turnout was far greater than expected. Thanks to fine individual performances from Sarah Lafferty, Aisling Sheridan, Dominic Brady, Geraldine Sheridan, Lorna Cahill, Sheana Kiernan and Adrian Smith, and a strong   showing in the team category Innyvale AC captured the Brian Webber Cup for best overall club. Other in-form athletes that impressed were Orla Smith, Barry Cooney, Celine Clerkin, Niall Comey, Derrice Mc Phillips, Fionan O Reilly, Caoimhe Carney and Kevin Ruxton. The races in the u10 and u12 age categories were tight affairs with little separating the top athletes at the finish.
